 Michael is a recognized innovator in worldwide organized philanthropy and non-profit management. He advises corporations, foundations and non-profit clients on novel grant making, management, partnerships, governance, resource development and project design. Michael is past President of the New York Regional Association of Grantmakers, an association of nearly 300 private and public funders.
Michael’s experience extends to such prominent organizations as the Ford Foundation, the New World Foundation, the American Freedom from Hunger Foundation, the Funding Exchange and the Bread and Roses Community Fund. He also co-launched and directed Funders Concerned About AIDS.
He served as Chair of the Non-profit Management Masters Degree Program at the New School University, where he also taught. Michael is the author of "Securing Your Organization’s Future" and writes a blog column covering philanthropy (http://pndblog.typepad.com/pndblog/). He is a graduate of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
