Julie Becker, Senior Vice President

With over 20 years experience in public health, Julie Becker has dedicated much of her career to developing and managing programs focused on marginalized populations, including innovative HIV/AIDS programs for women and girls, preparedness for new prevention technologies and maternal health. She offers extensive knowledge of global health programs, including gender- and rights-based programming and research.

At the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), Julie provided strategic management and technical support to IAVI's Country and Regional Programs, supporting clinical research through efforts to create an enabling environment at the national level and in communities surrounding research centers in the developing world. She also managed the organization's service delivery work, as well as advocacy and social science research related to women and gender. Earlier, Julie established the HIV/AIDs and maternal health programs at EngenderHealth, and developed new models for integration of HIV and family planning programs at the International Planned Parenthood Federation, Western Hemisphere Region.

Julie has worked in the US and in countries throughout Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia, and holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health/Behavioral Sciences from Harvard School of Public Health.
