 BJ is a nationally known non-profit executive. He is the founder and former President/CEO of the National Leadership Coalition on AIDS. He also served as Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs of the Council on Foundations.
BJ has done significant advocacy work on cancer, women’s health, HIV, community health care services and underserved populations. Since relocating to San Francisco, BJ has served as interim Executive Director for the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund and Operation Access. He is an authority on organizational leadership, strategic program planning and evaluation, stakeholder relations, advocacy programming and the development of effective media/communications strategies.
BJ is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University, earned a Bachelor of Divinity degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, and did post graduate studies in American social and intellectual history at Vanderbilt University.
