 Bill’s background and accomplishments have earned him recognition as a leading healthcare strategic counselor and communicator. He’s led public health campaigns as well as issues, crisis and change management for leading organizations. His efforts focused on infectious disease, oncology, mental health, chronic disease management and prevention.
Bill directed internal change communications for Merck’s corporate turnaround effort and led the company’s Vioxx withdrawal communications. He orchestrated a highly successful communications effort with the Clinton Global Initiative supporting vaccination of Nicaraguan infants against rotavirus. Bill created the first successful Hispanic Depression Screening Tool program and directed an integrated PR/government affairs program that grew the National AIDS Drug Assistance Program Congressional appropriation from $0 to more than $500 million. His cross-cultural communications and conflict resolution skills have been highly effective in producing successful campaigns and programs.
Bill served as President of Global Health at Cohn & Wolfe and GCI Health and was the senior communications and investor relations officer at two biotech companies. Bill is a graduate of the School of International Service at the American University.
