Vice President

Rabin Martin (RM) is a New York-based public relations and management-consulting firm focused on the health sector. The firm designs, manages and evaluates health initiatives and public affairs programs for a diverse range of corporate, non-profit and public sector clients such as Columbia University and Johnson & Johnson.

RM is seeking a Vice President to lead a variety of client programs and projects while developing and mentoring a team of bright creative professionals. Candidate should have an interest and domestic experience in public health. Strong communications skills and program management experience are necessary for this position.

The Vice President will:

  • Manage the day to day direction of programs and initiatives
  • Develop, plan and implement long-term client strategies and programs
  • Provide counsel to clients
  • Develop, manage and retain staff to ensure that high quality standards are maintained
  • Contribute to firm growth and direction as part of the management team
  • Understand public health issues, and stay abreast of trends in the health care system especially as it impacts low-income, minority and marginalized populations.
  • Work with media, research, and marketing staff to coordinate constituency and stakeholder relations and grassroots components of public affairs plans
  • Develop proposals and manage budgets for existing and new clients
  • Identify and secure opportunities to develop and enhance the scope of work for existing clients and identify new client opportunities

Candidates should have the following skills:

  • 5+ years of agency, corporate, foundation, NGO or public sector healthcare related experience in public affairs, marketing or social marketing or public policy advocacy Familiarity with leading health institutions and individuals
  • Superior strategic planning, writing, and communication skills
  • Experience researching and writing technical reports
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and cultivating strong ongoing relationships with thought leaders, patient advocates and community-based organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, teams and budgets
  • Experience recruiting, managing and developing a team of professional individuals
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Advanced degree in related fields such as communications, public health, health policy, journalism, law, economics, foreign affairs or is preferred

The successful candidate will play a role in firm leadership. The job requires some international travel for meetings and conferences. Benefits and salary are competitive.

Senior Associate

RM is in search of an energetic individual to join our growing firm as a Senior Associate. Candidate should have interest and domestic experience in public health with interest in community-based organization providing advocacy, disease prevention and treatment services. Strong communications skills and program management experience are necessary for this position.

We are an informal, hard working, and diverse team that often functions like a political campaign focused on health challenges and client needs. There are exceptional opportunities for advancement and teamwork.

The Senior Associate will:

  • Develop and plan long-term client strategies and programs and provide counsel on client strategic planning
  • Manage plan execution and program implementation; develop and oversee client budgets
  • Provide counsel to clients
  • Direct and manage junior staff to ensure that high quality standards are maintained
  • Research and develop special reports, issue briefs and other client materials on topics such as intellectual property and HIV treatment access
  • Understand public health issues, and stay abreast of trends in the health care system especially as it impacts low-income, minority and marginalized populations.
  • Work with media, research, and marketing staff to coordinate stakeholder relations and grassroots components of public affairs plans
  • Develop proposals for existing and new clients

Candidates should have the following skills:

  • 5+ years of healthcare related experience in community relations, public affairs, marketing, public policy analysis, public policy advocacy, or social marketing
  • 3-5 years agency, NGO, industry or public sector experience in health communications
  • Superior strategic planning, writing, and communication skills
  • Experience researching and writing technical reports
  • Experience and comfort working with high level executives or high profile individuals
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and cultivating strong ongoing relationships with thought-leaders, patient advocates and community-based organizations
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience managing a team of individuals
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Advanced degree in related fields such as policy communications, health policy, public health, journalism, law or economics is preferred.

Associate

RM is in search of an energetic individual to join our growing firm as an Associate. In this role, you will work directly with veteran healthcare communications experts, as well as a talented group of up and coming professionals. As a firm on the rise, the Associate will also have the immediate opportunity to be a key contributor on the interesting and important work we do for our clients.

We are an informal, hard working, and diverse team that often functions like a political campaign or newsroom focused on health challenges and client needs. There are exceptional opportunities for advancement and teamwork. We like to Samba at the holiday party and office politicians are shot.

The Associate will:

  • Work directly with Senior and Associate staff to develop and implement communications strategies and programs for our clients
  • Writing, editing and preparation of client materials and presentations are an important aspect of this responsibility, as are the development of proposals
  • Work directly with clients to assure that project objectives and other support needs are met

Candidates should have the following skills:

  • 3-5 years agency, NGO, industry or public sector experience in health communications, media relations and project management
  • Creative, organized; ability to work independently and in team setting
  • Bachelor's degree
Associate - HIV/AIDS & Community Health

We are currently looking to hire an Associate to support domestic client work on HIV/AIDS. The ideal candidate will be able to start immediately and jump in to provide support wherever needed. This position is suitable for individuals with several years' work experience.

The Associate will:
  • Develop HIV-related educational materials
  • Develop and implement communications strategies for clients
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community organizations
  • Write, edit and prepare client materials and presentations
  • Manage multiple client projects and coordinate logistics
  • Draft, prepare, and edit materials and presentations
  • Propose proactive ideas and creative solutions
  • Manage vendor relationships and budgets
  • Support senior staff and assist with strategy and program development
Candidates should have the following skills:
    3+ years of healthcare related experience in HIV, health education, community relations and/or  public affairs
  • Public health background and familiarity with health disparities research
  • Excellent communications skills; well-organized with an ability to handle several projects simultaneously and establish priorities
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Experience with  pharmaceutical and non-governmental sectors, public-private partnerships preferred
  • Comfort in a relaxed yet fast paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in health policy, public health or related field

Junior Associate

We are currently looking to hire a Junior Associate to support the firm on a number of exciting and expanding projects in the field of public health. The ideal candidate will be able to start immediately and jump in to provide support wherever it is needed.

This is an entry-level position. The initial work will not be glamorous, but we are committed to helping the ideal candidate develop and to enhance their abilities. Members of our team are provided with potential opportunity to work with clients or on projects that they find exciting as they mature within the firm.
